Dr. Najma Jamil, a practicing family physician in Saskatoon, graduated from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. Upon arriving in Canada, she pursued a Master’s in Pediatric Immunology at the University of Alberta, focusing on “Transplacental Transfer And Development of Immunity In the Newborn.” Following this, she took on a Research Fellowship at Cross Cancer Hospital in Edmonton, collaborating with a team of Canadian and American Oncologists, Pathologists, Nuclear Medicine experts, and Statisticians.

Dr. Jamil actively contributed to various studies and publications within the breast cancer project, specifically one “HER-2/neu Oncogene Amplification in the Prognosis of Node-Negative Breast Cancer Patients.” Her research papers were presented at international conferences, allowing interaction with specialists from diverse disciplines.

After raising her children, Dr. Jamil recommitted to her medical career. She completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Neurology at Royal University Hospital. She then joined the Family Medicine Program at the University of Saskatchewan. With over two decades of experience, she has transitioned from a busy Obstetrics practice to focus on pediatrics, geriatrics, maternal/prenatal health, mental health and public health.
